Week 32

And we're back!!

This week was honestly SO GOOD. It felt so short but at the same time so long because we did so much. But in general time is flying and I love being a missionary !

BRYAN'S BAPTISM! 🪣🌊☣️

Bryan got baptized on Tuesday!! Woooo!! So awesome but definitely very stressful and the baptism with most complications to date. Picture this: day of the baptism we talk to the ward mission leader. He tells us he went to the church early to clean and fill the font and that everything was ready. Awesome. We show up about 30 minutes before the baptism to print the programs and check on the font. When we go to look, the water in the font is BROWN. It was so nasty. We immediately call the ward mission leader and he is basically no help so we decide to empty the font and fill it back up again because the water is so gross. Problem is the fonts here take FOREVER to empty and fill, but we don't really have another choice. Anyway when the font is about halfway empty and all the members are starting to arrive, we realize that the font is no longer emptying. We check the cistern and find that it is completely full so we can't empty any more water into it. Solution? Bucket brigade. So us and the Elders grab some buckets and start dumping the font water into the toilets in the bathroom as fast as we can so that we can start filling the font. After about 30 minutes we finish, clean the font again and then start filling. But turns out it wasn't the font that was dirty, it was just the water. So we're sitting there, watching the font fill with the same (cold)dirty water and realize there's not anything else we can do. Luckily Bryan is a chiller and said he was fine with it. Once the font was filled to the brim with green/brown water, we started the service and Bryan made an eternal promise with God in dirty water. I honestly felt terrible about the whole thing, but it's the covenant that counts. After the service however, our work was not done because the cistern was still full and we had to get rid of the dirty water so that it didn't stain the font. So the bucket brigade got back to work and we emptied the whole thing in about an hour and a half. Overall a very memorable experience, and my back was definitely sore the next day 🪣🪣

That story was super long, my bad, so here's just a few other highlights: 

- finally hopped on the trompo train this week. It is the most frustrating but adrenaline introducing thing ever. A trompo is like a type of toy top that you throw with a rope and do tricks with. it's really hard 😔

- had intercambios with Hermana Rosales where we hiked in the middle of nowhere all day and then afterwards she gave me a nice little haircut 💇‍♀️ 🧗‍♀️

- a Mariachi band invaded our house yesterday. It wasn't actually an invasion because they were playing for our downstairs neighbor, but we had a nice Mariachi serenade during our studies. I am actually a big fan. I love Mariachi 🎺

- put Adriana and her 2 daughters on date for baptism in February! They're super cool and I'm excited to help them prepare for the next step 

- The biggest miracle: ANDRÉS MADE IT TO CHURCH! He texted us at like 10pm on Saturday saying that he could come jajaj (check google photos for live reaction) He absolutely loved it so we are working to help him prepare for his baptism this Sunday! Prayers would be appreciated! ⛪️

I love my Savior! He invites all to come unto Him, including you!!
